Common use of Creating a New Classification Clause in Contracts

Creating a New Classification. In the event that the Company creates a new classification or significantly alters an existing classification during the term of this agreement, the Company will advise the Union at least thirty (30) days prior to the implementation of the proposed new classification. The Company will provide the Union with the job description for the classification as well as a proposed wage rate. Should the parties not come to an agreement on the appropriate wage rate, the Union may file a grievance and the issue may proceed to an arbitration hearing to determine the new wage rate.
