Creation of Public Agency Sample Clauses

Creation of Public Agency. Pursuant to this act, there is hereby created a public agency to be known as the “Siskiyou Transportation Agency” hereinafter referred to as the “Agency.” The Agency is formed by this Agreement pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 5, Division 7, Title I (commencing with Section 6500) of the Government Code; two or more public agencies may, by agreement, form a Joint Powers Agency to exercise those powers and functions that are common to the contracting parties. It is the intent of the MEMBERS that the Agency shall be a public agency separate and apart from any MEMBER.
