Common use of Cultural/Scientific Resource Finds Clause in Contracts

Cultural/Scientific Resource Finds. If the Contractor's operations uncover or Contractor’s employees find any burial grounds or remains, ceremonial objects, petroglyphs, and archaeological or paleontological or other artifacts of like nature within the construction area, Contractor shall immediately notify the County of Contractor’s findings and shall modify construction operations so as not to disturb the findings pending receipt of notification as to determination of the final disposition of such finding from the County. Should the findings, or notification as to disposition of findings, require additional work, a Job Order will be issued at the County’s discretion. Any findings of a cultural/scientific resource nature shall remain the property of the County and not become the property of the person or persons making the discovery.
