Dangerous/Risky Activities. The following activities are strictly forbidden: driving any motorized vehicle (such as a car, motorcycle, all-terrain vehicle, etc.), hang gliding, bungee jumping, hitchhiking, parachute jumping, piloting or flying in a private plane, mountain biking, rock climbing, skateboarding, extreme sports, and any other such activities prohibited by the NSLI-Y implementing organizations. Promiscuous behavior is considered extremely risky and participants engaging in such behavior will be considered for program dismissal.

Dangerous/Risky Activities. The following activities are strictly forbidden: driving any motorized vehicle; riding on a motorcycle or all-terrain vehicle; hang gliding; bungee jumping; hitchhiking; parachute jumping; piloting or flying in a private plane; mountain biking; rock climbing; skateboarding; extreme sports; and any other such activities prohibited by the implementing organizations or not covered by health benefits provided. In some locations based on need, riding motorized scooters may be allowable under certain limited circumstances detailed by the implementing organization, and all safety precautions, including wearing a helmet and following all local laws and requirements of the vendors, must be taken. Obtaining piercings/tattoos, engaging in irresponsible sexual behavior, using web-based or social media applications to meet strangers online or in person, and inappropriate public displays of affection per local cultural norms are considered potentially unsafe, and participants engaging voluntarily in such behavior may be considered for program dismissal.

It is ultimately the participant’s responsibility know what activities are forbidden by the YES Abroad program and the implementing organization and not to participate in them.

  • Infectious Diseases The Employer and the Union desire to arrest the spread of infectious diseases in the nursing home. To achieve this objective, the Joint Health and Safety Committee may review and offer input into infection control programs and protocols including surveillance, outbreak control, isolation, precautions, worker education and training, and personal protective equipment. The Employer will provide training and ongoing education in communicable disease recognition, use of personal protective equipment, decontamination of equipment, and disposal of hazardous waste.
