Definition of Caisson Worker. In the construc- tion of bridges, dams and other structures requiring cofferdams built of tight wood sheeting or steel sheet piles, only the excavation described below shall be classed as caisson work. First, that excavation which is more than fifteen (15) feet below the lowest general excavation in the cofferdam. Second, that excavation which is more than fifteen (15) feet below the river or stream bed. Caisson workers wages shall apply to work so classified.
