Definition of Dependency. (a.) A dependent child shall be defined as a child who is dependent upon the employee for support as defined by the Internal Revenue Service, and claimed as a dependent on the employee’s federal income tax return. The university reserves the right to request a copy of the parent or legal guardian’s federal income tax return.
