Personal Leave. Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Personal Leave. Subject to operational requirements as determined by the Employer, and with an advance notice of at least five (5) working days, the employee shall be granted, in each fiscal year, up to fifteen (15) hours of leave with pay for reasons of a personal nature. The leave will be scheduled at times convenient to both the employee and the Employer. Nevertheless, the Employer shall make every reasonable effort to grant the leaves at such times as the employee may request.
Personal Leave. After the Trial Period, the Employee shall be eligible for days of ☐ paid ☐ unpaid time off per year for personal and/or medical issues. Such requests are to be submitted as far in advance as possible and a written reply will be given. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Personal Leave. The Employer may grant a request for leave of absence for personal reasons without pay provided that they receive reasonable notice, in writing, subject to the operational requirements of the Employer. Employees when applying for such leave shall indicate the proposed date of departure, the reason for the leave, and the date of return. Such requests will not be unreasonably denied.
Personal Leave. 35.19.1 Subject to operational requirements as determined by the Council and with an advance notice of at least five (5) working days, an employee shall be granted, in each fiscal year, fifteen (15) hours of leave with pay for reasons of a personal nature. This leave can be taken in periods of seven decimal five (7.5) hours or three decimal seven five (3.75) hours.
35.19.2 The leave shall be scheduled at a time convenient both to the employee and the Council. Nevertheless, the Council shall make every reasonable effort to grant the leave at such a time as the employee may request.
Personal Leave. Leave may be granted to any employee, upon request, for personal reasons. No such leave shall be granted for the purpose of securing other employment, except as provided in this Article.
Personal Leave. The local Superintendent has the authority to grant to any employee up to three (3) days of personal leave during each school year. Notice of intent for such leave shall be submitted in writing to the Superintendent at least two (2) days before the period of absence is to begin, except in emergency situations. Upon approval by the Superintendent, the applicant will not suffer any loss of salary for such absence and such days shall not be deducted from the employee's accumulated days of sick leave. Such absences cannot be used for a purpose which would be chargeable to sick leave unless the teacher has exhausted sick leave. Specific events or circumstances (emergencies) beyond the control of the employee for which leave may be granted without prior written request are "acts of God" such as severe weather or an unexpected home calamity. Notification of an emergency beyond the control of the employee for the use of personal leave in these cases must be submitted, in writing, to the local Superintendent no later than the first day the employee returns to work. Notice of intent to use personal leave shall be made on the prescribed form. The reason for such leave shall be stated as “personal” and no further details will be required. The prescribed form shall require the employee to certify by signature that the leave was used in accordance with this procedure. Any violation of this procedure shall be considered grounds for disciplinary action including termination. Personal leave normally shall be granted in one-half (½) or one (1) day increments only. Personal leave shall not be granted during the first or last week of school, on a professional development day or when ten percent (10%) or more of the teachers in the district are scheduled to be absent for a personal or professional day. A teacher who takes a personal day for the school day immediately preceding or the school day immediately following a vacation or a holiday will be charged one and one-half (1.5) personal days for the one (1) day taken. Personal Leave. The provisions of this clause apply to full-time and part-time employees (on a pro rata basis) but do not apply to casual employees. The entitlements of casual employees are set out in the casual clause of this Agreement.
Personal Leave. Personal leave not to exceed three days a year shall be granted each teacher. Teachers hired after the start of the school year shall be entitled to a pro-rated number of days. Teachers working less than full-time will be pro-rated for personal days to the nearest half- day. Personal leave may be used for such occasions as religious holidays, personal graduations and weddings, and graduations and weddings of members of the immediate family or household or personal business that cannot be performed at any other time. Personal leave is intended to cover emergency or other business that cannot be performed at any other time. The accumulation of personal leave for personnel on the teacher’s salary schedule shall not exceed five days. Accumulations in excess of five days, as of the first day of any school year shall be converted to sick leave and added to the member’s sick leave accumulation. Personal leave shall be requested in writing or verbally to the Human Resources Department because of the necessity of obtaining substitutes. Whenever feasible, such requests shall be made at least one week prior to the date requested for such leave. To obtain payment for personal leave, the employee shall enter the request via the internet or calling the Automated Substitute Management System using the individual PIN assigned when first registering with the system. Entering an absence by internet or calling in to the Automated Substitute Management System is considered a digital signature. Falsification of such form shall be grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination. Requests for personal leave on the day immediately preceding or following a school vacation period will not be approved, except under very unusual circumstances. Personal leave can be granted only when no compensation is received by the employee from other than school funds. Personal leave shall be for personal business which cannot be performed at any other time. Except for personal leave immediately preceding or following a school vacation period, the teacher need not describe nor reveal the nature of such business, but need only state, in making the request, that the leave is necessary to attend to personal business which cannot be performed at any other time. Members of the bargaining unit employed on less than a full-time basis shall be entitled to such leave prorated according to their fraction of full-time employment.
