Definitions and Purpose of Grievance. a. The purpose of this article is to establish a procedure for the settlement of any dispute involving the application, administration, interpretation or alleged violation of this Collective Agreement or of an existing practice of the Board. The contravention of practices of the predecessor boards will not form the basis of any grievance.

Definitions and Purpose of Grievance. a. The purpose of this article is to establish a procedure for the settlement of any dispute involving the application, administration, interpretation or alleged violation of this Collective Agreement or of an existing practice of the Board. The contravention of practices of the predecessor boards will not form the basis of any grievance. A 'party' to the grievance shall be defined as the Union Local or the Board. The 'complainant' shall be the teacher. 'Days' shall mean scheduled work days in the applicable school year calendar unless otherwise indicated.
