DEMOTION AND DISCHARGE. In the event a faculty member with College-granted tenure is demoted or discharged, the process of the Teacher Tenure Act shall apply. The arbitrator shall, to the extent possible, act as if he/she were sitting on the State Tenure Commission and shall render his/her decision on the same basis and using the same standards as those applied by the State Tenure Commission. Any probationary faculty member not on a continuing contract shall be employed for the ensuing year unless notified (in writing) at least 60 days before the close of the academic year that his/her services will be discontinued.
