DEVIATION FROM PLANS AND DRAWINGS. The works shall be substantially in accordance with the plan and specifications provided that the contractor shall be entitled in his discretion to deviate from the plan and basic specifications if, during the building and construction of the works it appears that such deviation will result in the most significant, practical and economical completion of the works without essentially deviating from the plan or having a negative effect on the quality and finishing of the works.
