Disposition of Probationer. 1. Continuous service in the position after the expiration of the probationary period shall constitute a regular appointment. 2. Probationary employees are not eligible for promotion or out-of-class until at least six (6) months of probation has been satisfactorily completed. Promotional consideration will be made for employees that were placed on an eligibility list for the vacant position prior to being hired. The Fire Chief, or his/her designee, has the discretion to waive this provision due to business need. 3. Any employee demoted during his or her probationary period following a promotional appointment shall be reinstated in the position from which he/she was promoted, unless the reasons for cancellation of the promotional appointment would be cause for dismissal from employment.
