District Committees. 5.1 Appointment of Committees District advisory committees responsible for evaluation and recommending modification of the Park Hill policies and academic calendar shall be appointed and maintained in the following manner: a. Each committee will have at least two (2) patrons, one (1) administrator, and two (2) classified personnel. The remaining members shall be teachers of whom 90% will be selected from those nominated by the Association president. Members of each committee shall be approved by the Board of Education each year at its regular September meeting. b. Each elementary and middle school shall be represented by a certified teacher. c. Each High School shall be represented by two certified teachers. d. Committee membership shall be on a staggered three (3) year rotation.

District Committees a. District Committees shall be struck, in accordance with Article F.22.2.c, for the purpose of consultation regarding matters concerning the implementation of either provincial or local new curricula. The District Committees will: i. review new curricula; and ii. consider and make recommendations regarding implementation of new curricula. b. The Board will consult with the District Committees when evaluating new curricula after implementation. c. Each District Committee shall have at least three Association appointees, and three Board appointees. d. The District Committees shall meet at mutually agreeable times at the request or either party to discuss implementation of the new curricula.

District Committees. Teachers working on District-wide committees shall be compensated at the committee rate per hour for attendance at committee meetings held beyond the regular workday or work year. District committees must be authorized by the superintendent or designee. Teacher participation and compensation for committee work must be approved by the superintendent or designee. The committee structure will include a specific charge/purpose, a description of the size and composition of the committee, timelines, and a statement of authority. Each committee will be co-chaired by a representative of the Board/Administrative group and the QBEA. Each committee will publish minutes of its meetings on the intranet. Committees will follow PLC (Professional Learning Communities) guidelines and norms including consensus decision-making and collaboration.
