Drug/Alcohol Treatment. Employees who have completed probation and who test positive for the presence of illegal drugs or alcohol will be referred to a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) for evaluation. An SAP is a licensed or certified physician, psychologist, social worker, employee assistance professional, or addiction counselor with knowledge of, and clinical experience in, the diagnosis and treatment of drug and alcohol-related disorders. The SAP will evaluate the employee to determine what assistance, if any, the employee needs to resolve problems associated with prohibited substance abuse or misuse of alcohol. Under certain circumstances, including a positive drug and/or alcohol test, an employee may be required to undergo treatment for substance abuse. After the employee's return to duty after such evaluation and/or treatment, he/she must follow the rehabilitation program prescribed by the SAP, pass a return-to-duty drug and alcohol test(s), and be subject to unannounced follow- up tests for a period of at least one (1) year as determined by the SAP or as required by applicable law. Any employee who refuses treatment when required, or fails to comply with the regimen prescribed by the SAP for treatment, aftercare, or return-to-duty, shall be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
