Common use of Duties and Responsibilities of the University Clause in Contracts

Duties and Responsibilities of the University. The University will be responsible for the selection of Enrolled Students to be placed at the Organization and will assign only those students who have satisfactorily completed the prerequisite portion of the program curriculum. The University’s Director of Community Practice and Outreach, or similar person, shall with the assistance of the Organization, plan the program for the Practical Experience. The University will assign a faculty member to monitor and evaluate the Enrolled Student’s performance during the internship and will coordinate the Enrolled Student assignment with the Organization Facilitator. The University, at the beginning of the Practical Experience term, shall provide to the Organization the description of the program, curriculum, and objectives to be achieved at the Organization, which shall include instruction and learning experiences essential for the course of study or occupational area. The University shall instruct each of its Enrolled Students to comply with all directives of the Organization’s professional personnel, unless required otherwise by law. The University shall direct its Enrolled Students to function in accordance with the highest professional standards and scope of practice. The University agrees to advise Enrolled Students of any known policies, procedures, and requirements of the internship as specified by the Organization. The University shall coordinate the Enrolled Student’s assignment with the supervisor of the Organization. Upon request, the University will provide to the Organization a copy of a criminal history background check performed on each Enrolled Student dated less than two (2) years prior to the commencement of the internship placement. The University will verify that, prior to clinical placement each Enrolled Student and faculty instructor has completed and successfully passed a drug screening test and that each student will be skin tested for tuberculosis with the PPD test per state requirement and provide written evidence thereof to the Organization upon request. Documentation of any required immunization(s) or titers as follows: a) Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR); b) Tetanus/Diphtheria booster; c) Chickenpox; d) Rubeola (2 MMRs); e) diphtheria; f) tetanus; and g) annual flu vaccination, unless otherwise required by state guidelines will be produced in writing upon request.
