Common use of Effective Date and Term of Employment Clause in Contracts

Effective Date and Term of Employment. (a) The term of employment under this Agreement shall commence as of January 1, 1998, (the "Commencement Date") and shall, unless extended as hereinafter provided, terminate on December 31, 2000 (the "Term of Employment"). (b) On the initial termination date of the Term of Employment, and each succeeding anniversary, the Term of Employment shall automatically be extended for an additional one year period unless, not later than six months prior to any such anniversary, either party to this Agreement shall have given written notice to the other that the Term of Employment shall not be extended or further extended beyond its then already automatically extended term, if any.
