Effective Date of Coverage. Coverage becomes effective for an employee on the date the employee becomes eligible for coverage as set out in the policy. If an employee is absent from work because of a disability due to illness or injury on the date the employee's coverage (or an increase in coverage) would otherwise become effective, such coverage (or increased coverage) will not become effective until the date the employee returns to active work for one full day.
