Common use of Effective Dates of Promotion Clause in Contracts

Effective Dates of Promotion. a. Employees selected for promotion must be promoted no later than the beginning of the second pay period after their notification except in unusual circumstances, but not later than thirty (30) days after notification. b. If an employee is nearing the end of a waiting period for a within-grade increase, consideration should be given to effecting a promotion at the beginning of a pay period on or after the effective date of the within-grade increase if such action benefits the employee, and would not delay the promotion for more than thirty (30) days.
