ELECTION AND APPOINTMENT OF AC OFFICERS. 16.1 The AC Chair noted that the election of AC officials usually occurs at the Advisory Committee following the MoP but that some changes in circumstances had created a requirement for an election for the position of Co-convenor of the Seabird Bycatch Working Group and the Chair of the Advisory Committee. He called for nominations for those two positions. 16.2 New Zealand proposed Xx Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxxxx (Uruguay) for the position of Seabird Bycatch Working Group Co-convenor. Since there were no other nominations, and the AC endorsed the proposal, Xx Xxxxxxx was duly elected. 16.3 The Advisory Committee noted that the appointment of Xx Xxxxxxx as Co- convenor had created a vacancy for Co-vice convenor of the Seabird Bycatch Working Group. 16.4 Uruguay proposed Xx Xxxxx Xxxxxxx (Brazil) for the position of Seabird Bycatch Working Group Co-vice convenor. Since there were no other nominations, and the AC endorsed the proposal, Xx Xxxxxxx was duly elected. 16.5 The UK proposed Xx Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx (Australia) as the new Chair of the Advisory Committee. Since there were no other nominations, and the AC endorsed the proposal, Dr Xxxxxx was duly elected. 16.6 The Advisory Committee noted that the appointment of Dr Xxxxxx as Advisory Committee Chair created a vacancy for Vice-convenor of the Taxonomy Working Group. 16.7 There were no nominations for this position. The TWG Xxxxxxxx recalled the recommendation for Parties to nominate relevant experts to this working group and confirmed the post and call for nominations would remain open during the intersessional period. 16.8 AC12 congratulated Drs Xxxxxx, Xxxxxxx and Xxxxxxx on their appointments.
ELECTION AND APPOINTMENT OF AC OFFICERS. 17.1 The AC Chair advised the meeting that no AC posts are subject to election at this meeting. All the Committee officer positions will conclude at the end of AC15. 17.2 The Advisory Committee acknowledged the significant amount of work that all AC officials undertake for the Agreement and expressed thanks for their dedication.

Elections would be required to elect officers for the next period, which will conclude at end of the AC meeting after the next session of the Meeting of the Parties (AC9). He asked in turn for nominations: 17.2 Vice-convenors, Seabird Bycatch Working Group: Spain proposed Xxxx Xxxxxx, Argentina proposed Xxxxxxx Xxxxx. There were no other nominations so Xxxx Xxxxxx and Xxxxxxx Xxxxx were duly elected.

ELECTION AND APPOINTMENT OF AC OFFICERS. 22.1 As a result of the Committee‟s decision to amalgamate the Breeding Sites and Status and Trends Working Groups into a single working group, the Chair asked Members for nominations for the positions of Convenor/s and Vice-convenor/s. 22.2 Nominations were received for Xx Xxxxxxxx Xxxxx and Dr Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx to fill the positions of Co-convenors for the new Population and Conservation Status Working Group. Unanimous support was given for these appointments. 22.3 In relation to the position/s of Vice-convenor/s nominations were received for Xx Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx and Xx Xxxxx Xxxxxxxxxxxx to fill these positions. Unanimous support was given for these appointments.

Elections would be required to elect officers for the next period, which will conclude at the end of the AC meeting after the Seventh Meeting of Parties (AC 13 in 2022). He asked in turn for nominations: 16.2 Convenor, Taxonomy Working Group: Argentina proposed Xxxx Xxxxxx (UK), who was elected unopposed.
