Elementary Recess Procedure. The standard procedure shall be a fifteen- (15-) minute morning and fifteen- (15-) minute afternoon recess, but an individual school may choose to alter this by agreement of staff and principal. Recess period does not apply for the morning or afternoon that a particular class has physical education instruction, except in those cases where a teacher believes it to be in the best educational interests of his/her students. In this situation, the individual teachers shall supervise their own recess period.
