Emergency Changes in Teaching Assignments. In the event of emergency changes in teaching assignments - that is, re-assignments necessitated by unanticipated events (such as enrollment shortfalls requiring course cancellations, illness or resignation) occurring within a period of two (2) weeks before the semester through the end of the semester - the Department Chair/APC/APD may independently determine faculty re-assignment. In making such determination, however, the Department Chair/APC/APD shall take into consideration the preferences of the affected faculty member(s) as well as the staffing needs of the division. Emergency assignments of this kind shall not constitute precedent for assignments in succeeding semesters.
