Common use of Emergency Duties Clause in Contracts

Emergency Duties. Any work necessary for the safety of the vessel, passengers, crew or cargo, or for the saving of other vessels, lives or cargoes, shall be performed at any time on immediate call by all Officers, notwithstanding any provision of this Agreement which might be construed to the contrary. In no event shall overtime or cargo time be paid for work performed in connection with such emergency duties. The determination of an emergency situation will be at the discretion of the Master.
