Non-teaching Assignments. For non-teaching assignments, (35 or 40 hours/week) a unit member’s sick leave will be charged for missed contract work hours, rounded to the nearest quarter (.25) hour in fifteen (15) minute increments. The hours shall be calculated by determining the exact number of minutes missed, deducting the full hours and then using the chart in section 6.1.4.1 to round to the nearest quarter hour. Example: A non-teaching faculty member misses one day due to illness. On the missed day, the faculty member was scheduled to work from 8:00 a. m. to 4:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break, or for 7 hours. The faculty member would use sick leave of 7 contract hours. Non-teaching faculty on the 40 hours/week schedule who miss one day due to illness would use sick leave of 8 contract hours.

Non-teaching Assignments. Teachers shall reserve the right to resign from sponsor and/or coaching positions for extra-curricular activities with the exception of sponsorship of high school classes by written notification to their building principal by March 15. If no one from the existing district certified personnel agrees to assume a sponsor and/or coaching position, the administration reserves the right to temporarily assign such duties with consideration for teacher preference for a period not to exceed one academic year. Cheerleader sponsor position is excluded from the positions that can be assigned by the Board.
Non-teaching Assignments. Part-time faculty earn Preferred Re-Employment Consideration when the following criteria have been met at the time of scheduling: a) The part-time faculty member has received a “Satisfactory” rating on both of the two most recent evaluations within the program area; b) The part-time faculty member is at Step 3 or higher on the Part-Time Compensation Schedule; c) The part-time faculty member has worked at least three (3) complete primary terms in the educational area/unit; d) The part-time faculty member complies with Chaffey College policies and procedures including programmatic responsibilities in a timely manner, and managing and responding, as appropriate, to the District assigned email account; and e) The part-time faculty member submits the completed Chaffey College Availability Form to the FLM, or to the FLM’s designee, by the established due date.
Non-teaching Assignments. Non-Teaching duties, other than duties covered in Section 9.01, shall be assigned as deemed necessary by the Administration, with such assignments being divided as evenly as possible when practical to do so. Teachers will only be assigned to work basketball games if volunteers can't be located. This section shall not be subject to the Grievance Procedure contained in this Agreement.

Non-teaching assignments include, but are not limited to, supervision of students during class period times (e.g., lunch supervision in secondary schools, I.S.P., clinic, etc.) 2. Non-teaching assignments shall be rotated equitably among all available bargaining unit members within a given building. This rotation of assignments shall occur at the beginning of each school year. Bargaining unit members shall be afforded the opportunity to request a specific non-teaching assignment. 3. No bargaining unit members shall be scheduled for more than one non-teaching assignment during each pupil day, except by mutual agreement between the bargaining unit member and the administration. The length of time for a non- teaching assignment shall not exceed a class period or its approximate equivalent.
Non-teaching Assignments. Teachers shall continue to perform the following non-teaching assignments; (a) supervision of children after arriving at school in the morning; (b) any other duty or assignment, when and if the need arises during the school day or after school. This decision will be made by the Administration based upon the health and safety of the children.

Non-teaching Assignments. Teachers shall be consulted and given preference in any assignment that is in addition to the normal teaching schedule during the regular school year, including adult education, extra duties, and summer school courses. Job assignments will be made based on several qualifications including licensure, expertise, program seniority, and District seniority.
