The Emergency Substitute clause allows for the temporary replacement of a key individual or resource in the event of an unforeseen emergency that prevents them from fulfilling their contractual obligations. In practice, this clause typically outlines the conditions under which a substitute may be appointed, the qualifications required for the substitute, and the process for notifying the other party. Its core function is to ensure continuity of service or performance during unexpected disruptions, thereby minimizing delays and maintaining the integrity of the agreement.
EMERGENCY SUBSTITUTE. Supervisory employees, or non-bargaining unit employees, may perform duties normally performed by bargaining unit members whenever the performance of such duties on a temporary basis is necessary to ensure continuity of essential administrative or educational functions of the District.
EMERGENCY SUBSTITUTE. The building level crisis plan will delineate the procedure to be followed if a teacher must leave the classroom due to the personal impact of a crisis situation. The building administrator will follow the plan unless circumstances require alternative actions.
EMERGENCY SUBSTITUTE. In cases of emergency, teachers on regular contract may be assigned to substitute for a colleague or may be assigned another class along with the class they have, whether a study hall, library, guidance period, or regular class.
