EMPLOYEE LEGAL PROTECTION. A. In the event that a member of the unit, while in the course and scope of discharging his/her duties, should be battered, the District agrees to provide legal support for such member. B. The District will carry liability insurance to provide protection for members of the unit against property loss arising from a battery or from civil suit relating thereto, initiated against such member for action while such member was in a reasonable and prudent manner performing duties in the course and scope of his/her employment. C. The District shall reimburse members of the unit for any loss, damage, or destruction of clothing or personal property due to battery on the member while on duty in the school, on the school premises, or on a school- sponsored activity unless such damage is due to negligence or fault by the member. Any other cases resulting in loss or damage will be considered for reimbursement on an individual basis by the District. D. In other instances, the personal property of the unit members will not be repaired or replaced in the event it is lost, stolen, or damaged.
