Employee Paid Fringe Benefits During Leave. Any employee granted a Board approved leave of absence with or without pay as provided in this Article shall be given the opportunity, unless otherwise provided, to continue insurance coverage in existing school programs and, with the approval of the retirement system, continue participation in the retirement system during the leave, provided that the premium for such insurance programs shall be paid by the employee on a monthly basis in advance of the month due.
