Benefits During Leave. An employee on a leave of absence who uses less than eight (8) hours of paid leave during a month is responsible for paying the entire premium cost (both the University and employee shares) of his or her health insurance during an approved leave of absence.

Benefits During Leave. No seniority or other accrual benefits (such as sick or vacation time) will accrue during a leave of absence, except if otherwise required by law and except that an employee on leave for a workplace injury will continue to accrue seniority during any such leave, for layoff or recall purposes.
Benefits During Leave. (a) Employees returning to work from maternity leave or parental leave retain service credits accumulated prior to taking leave. (b) Where employees elect to maintain coverage for medical, group life and other benefits while on leave, they may; (i) elect to pay employee premiums in advance of the leave; (ii) elect to have the employer pay both portions of the premiums and authorize the employer to recover the employee premiums paid on behalf of the employee when the employee returns to work or terminates. (c) Illness arising due to pregnancy during employment and prior to this leave of absence may be charged to normal sick leave credits. (d) Pension contributions are required for the first three (3) months of the leave period. For leave periods in excess of three (3) months, the employee has the option to buy back the service period but it is not required.
Benefits During Leave. A nurse on an unpaid leave of absence will not continue to accrue benefits during that leave, but there shall be no loss of previously accrued benefits if the nurse returns to work as scheduled at the end of the allowed leave. To the extent allowed by the applicable insurance policy, a nurse desiring insurance benefits to continue during a leave of absence may do so by paying the full premium to the Employer monthly in advance unless otherwise provided by law for a family or medical leave.
