EMPLOYEE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES. 1. Pursuant to Chapter 123, Public Laws 1974, the Board hereby agrees that every employee of the College shall have the right freely to organize, join, and support the Federation and its affiliates for the purpose of engaging in collective negotiations and other concerned activities for mutual aid and protection. As a duly-selected body exercising governmental power under the laws of the State of New Jersey, the Board undertakes and agrees that it shall not directly or indirectly discourage or deprive or coerce any employee in the enjoyment of any rights conferred by Chapter 123, Public Laws of 1974 or other laws of New Jersey or of the Constitution of New Jersey and the Constitution of the United States; that it shall not discriminate against any employee with respect to hours, wages, or any terms or conditions of employment by reason of his membership in the Union and its affiliates, his participation in any activities of the Union and its affiliates, collective negotiations with the Board, or his institution of any grievances, complaints, or proceedings under this Agreement or otherwise with respect to any terms or conditions of employment. 2. Whenever any Unit Member is required to appear at a hearing before the President or his designee, Board, or any committee, member, representative or agent thereof concerning any matter that could adversely affect the continuation of that Unit Member in his office, position, or employment or the salary or any increments pertaining thereto, then he shall be given prior written notice of the reasons for such meeting or interview and shall be entitled to have representatives(s) of the Federation present to advise him during such meeting or interview. 4. No employee shall be prevented from wearing pins or other identification of membership in the Federation or its affiliates.

2B. Nothing contained herein shall be constructed to deny or restrict to an employee such rights as he may have under New Jersey School Laws or other applicable laws or regulations. The rights granted to employees hereunder shall be deemed to be in addition to those provided elsewhere.
C. Whenever any Unit Member employee is formally required to appear at a hearing before the President any administrator or his designeesupervisor, Board, or any committee, member, representative committee or agent member thereof concerning any matter that which could adversely affect the continuation of that Unit Member employee in his office, position, employment, or employment or the salary or any increments pertaining thereto, then he shall be given prior written notice of the reasons reason for such meeting or interview and shall be entitled to have representatives(sa representative(s) of the Federation Association present to advise him during such meeting or interview.
4. D. No employee shall be prevented from wearing pins or other identification of membership in the Federation Association.
E. No employee shall be disciplined or its affiliatesreprimanded in the presence of students or fellow workers.

2B. No employee shall be disciplined or have his/her compensation reduced without just cause. Any such action by the Board, or any agent or representative thereof, shall not be made public until formal action is taken by the Board and shall, at the option of the employee be subject to the grievance procedure herein set forth.
C. Whenever any Unit Member employee is required to appear at a hearing before an administrator, the President Superintendent or his designeeBoard concerning matters which, Boardin the opinion of the Administrator involved, or any committee, member, representative or agent thereof concerning any matter that could adversely affect the continuation of that Unit Member employee in his office, his/her position, or employment employment, or the salary or any increments pertaining thereto, then he he/she shall be given prior written notice of the reasons for such meeting or interview and shall be entitled to have representatives(s) a representative of the Federation Association present to advise him him/her and represent him/her during such meeting or interview.
4. D. No employee shall be prevented from wearing pins or other identification of membership in the Federation Association or its affiliates.
