Common use of Employment Security Considerations Clause in Contracts

Employment Security Considerations. The parties agree that work of a casual nature will be first offered to regular employees who have been laid off. This preference continues until such employees are severed pursuant to Articles 16 (Severance Pay) and 19 – Technological Change, Automation and Other Changes. During their period of layoff they will be deemed to be regular employees but subject to call in provisions of Article 31 of this Collective Agreement.
