Common use of Engaged Districts Clause in Contracts

Engaged Districts. Districts retain the ultimate authority over WLC schools, but will delegate many agreed-upon responsibilities as specified in this agreement to the WLC and schools. The division of specific day-to-day roles and responsibilities specified in this agreement is intended to push decision-making to those closest to students and families, while districts continue to play a vital role through both district partnership with the WLC and the service on the WLC Council of key district representatives. The districts will work with the WLC to collaboratively develop metrics (with multiple measures) to hold the WLC accountable. The WLC is accountable to the districts for success. Districts may add or remove individual schools from the WLC without invalidating this agreement, as specified further in section 10.9.
