PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAYS. The parties agree that if the Ministry of Education declares a change in the number of PA Days the following shall apply: The parties agree that there will be no loss of pay for CUPE members (excluding casual employees) as a result of the change in the number of PA Days determined by the Ministry of Education. The scheduling of PA days shall not change the number of paid days for the work year as per the Collective Agreement.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAYS. The Board shall provide information to the Union about the professional development activities provided by the Board.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAYS. The Board agrees to authorize and approve the maximum number of professional activity days allowed by the Education Act and Regulations.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAYS. 21.01 Professional Activity Days are considered work days for all seniority employees and the employees will be paid at their regular rate of pay for their normally scheduled hours of work. Time spent in addition to their normally scheduled hours is optional and is without pay.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAYS. 18.01 The Board shall pay Long Term Occasional Teachers for each Professional Activity day subject to attendance.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAYS. 26.01 The Board shall provide information to the Local about the professional development activities provided by the Board.
26.02 A Professional Activity Day shall not interrupt the continuity of an occasional teaching assignment.
26.03 A Long Term Occasional Teacher who is scheduled to work when there is a Professional Activity Day will be paid for the day and will be required to participate in the scheduled professional activity sessions.
26.04 An Occasional Teacher may attend, without pay, scheduled Professional Activity Days arranged by the Board. Requests for attendance should be made through a Principal of a school.
26.05 An Occasional Teacher shall, upon request, have access to the Board’s in-service programs on a voluntary basis without pay. Request for attendance should be made through the Principal of a school.
26.06 The Board will assist the Local in organizing one unpaid Professional Development Day for Occasional Teachers each school year. It is understood that any Professional Development Day organized will be at no cost to the Board unless expenses are pre-authorized by the Board.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAYS. 25.01 The Employer shall provide information to the Union about the professional development activities provided by the Board.
25.02 Subject to availability of space, an Occasional Teacher may attend, without pay, scheduled professional activity days and/or in-service programs arranged by the Employer.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAYS. (a) A Long-Term Occasional Teacher, whose assignment includes a Professional Activity Day, shall be paid for the day provided that the Long-Term Occasional Teacher participates in the scheduled professional activities. A break in service caused by a Professional Activity Day shall not constitute a break in continuity of service.
(b) If an Occasional Teacher is in for a Teacher for nine (9) consecutive days and the tenth day falls on a P.D. Day, the Occasional Teacher shall attend the P.D. Day and the assignment shall be declared to be Long-Term. The Board agrees to provide the Union with $8,500, by September 1st of each school year, to be used toward professional development for members of the bargaining unit. The Occasional Teachers have the responsibility to organize the Professional Development Day. The schedule will be approved prior to the announced agenda for the Professional Development Day. The Occasional Teachers will submit on an annual basis a report to the Board outlining the utilization of the professional development funds by the last school day of the current school year. The Board will offer staff and facilities as needed or available. Surplus funds in any given school year shall remain with the Union and carry over to the next school year.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAYS. 17:01 A Long Term Occasional Teacher who is scheduled to work when there is a professional activity day shall be paid for the day provided that the Long Term Occasional Teacher participates in the scheduled professional activities.
17:02 An Occasional Teacher may attend a Board-wide professional activity day, if space is available and there is no additional cost to the Board, and the Occasional Teacher shall not receive compensation for such time. The Board shall provide Professional Activity Day agendas and schedules to the Bargaining Unit Executive.
17:03 The Board shall provide Occasional Teachers with an annual in- service training day with input from the Association, and Occasional Teachers attending shall not receive compensation for such time.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAYS. 34.01 An employee shall be paid for the Professional Activity Days and shall be required to participate in the scheduled professional activity sessions.
