Common use of ENGINE IDLING Clause in Contracts

ENGINE IDLING. Drivers of ALL VEHICLES agree to turn engines off at every reasonable opportunity when loading and unloading passengers and/or when staging in the various loading zones, staging areas and tour venues throughout the CBJ. This includes all passenger and crew shuttle operations and “quick drop-offs” accomplished at Marine Park and the Columbia (Tram) Lot. Vehicles should not sit with engines idling while actively loading, unloading, or waiting for passengers to arrive. Engines should be started only when the vehicle is ready to move, and thereafter, only when the vehicle is in motion or in traffic. Note that the State Museum, Juneau Ranger District, and all downtown docks require companies to turn off engines at these facilities as part of a company’s permit to operate.
