Entitlement and Calculation of Payment. An employee who has completed less than one (1) year of continuous service as of May 31st shall be entitled to two (2) weeks' annual vacation. Payment for such vacation shall be pro- rated in accordance with his/her service. An employee who has completed one (1) year but less than two (2) years of continuous service as of May 31st shall be entitled to two (2) weeks’ annual vacation with pay. An employee who has completed two (2) years but less than five (5) years of continuous service as of May 31st shall be entitled to three (3) weeks' annual vacation with pay. An employee who has completed five (5) years but less than twelve (12) years of continuous service as of May 31st shall be entitled to four (4) weeks’ annual vacation with pay. An employee who has completed twelve (12) but less than twenty (20) years of continuous service as of May 31st shall be entitled to five (5) weeks’ annual vacation with pay. An employee who has completed twenty (20) years but less than twenty-eight (28) years of continuous service as of May 31st shall be entitled to six (6) weeks’ annual vacation with pay. An employee who has completed twenty-eight (28) or more years of continuous service as of their anniversary date of hire shall be entitled to seven (7) weeks’ annual vacation with pay. For clarification, an employee will not be eligible to receive the seventh (7th) week of vacation where they have already received the additional five (5) days of supplemental vacation in the same vacation year. Vacation pay shall be calculated on the basis of the employee's regular straight time rate of pay times their normal weekly hours of work, subject to the application of the Effect of Absence provision.
