Common use of Equipment and Products Clause in Contracts

Equipment and Products. To the greatest extent practical, all equipment and products purchased with CDC funds should be American-made. CDC defines equipment as tangible non-expendable personal property (including exempt property) charged directly to an award having a useful life of more than one year AND an acquisition cost of $5,000 or more per unit. However, consistent with grantee policy, a lower threshold may be established. Please provide the information to the Grants Management Officer to establish a lower equipment threshold to reflect your organization's policy. The grantee may use its own property management standards and procedures, provided it observes provisions in applicable grant regulations found at 45 CFR Part 75.
