Common use of Establishment of Program Clause in Contracts

Establishment of Program. Subject to the approval of its Board of Directors the Company will establish an amended General Motors Canadian Group Life and Disability Insurance Program for Hourly-Rate Employees, hereinafter referred to as the "Program", a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit B-1 and made a part of this Agreement to the extent applicable to the employees represented by the Union and covered by this Agreement as if fully set out herein, modified and supplemented, however, by the provisions hereinafter. In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the Program and the provisions of this Agreement, the provisions of this Agreement will supersede the provisions of the Program to the extent necessary to eliminate such conflict. In the event that the Program is not approved by the Board of Directors of the Company, written notice of such disapproval shall be given within 30 days thereafter to the Union and this Agreement shall thereupon have no force or effect. In that event the matters covered by this Agreement shall be the subject of further negotiation between the Company and the Union.
