EVALUATION OF FACULTY FOR TENURE APPOINTMENT. ‌ The granting of tenure must not be a reward for services performed during the probationary years, but should be an expression of confidence that a faculty member will continue to be a valued colleague, a good teacher, an active scholar, or an artist. Accordingly, tenure shall be based on a thorough review of faculty performance during the probationary years. Such evaluation shall be conducted in accordance with sections 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4 of this agreement. A probationary faculty member shall be eligible to make application for tenure when either of the following has been accomplished:
