Evaluation of Protest. The Engineer has no responsibility for evaluating a protest that is not timely filed, or for which adequate supporting documentation has not been made available to the Engineer. Provided the procedures above are followed, the Engineer will promptly evaluate all protests and, if the protest is denied, advise the Contractor in writing of the reasons for full or partial denial. If a protest is found to be valid, the Engineer will, within a reasonable time, make an equitable adjustment of the Contract. Adjustment of time will be evaluated according to 00180.80. If the Contractor does not accept the Engineer's evaluation of the protest, the Contractor may pursue a claim as described in 00199.30.
