Evaluation Process. The evaluative process employed by each Appointment Review Committee shall include the stipulations outlined below: a. The first order of business for each Appointment Review Committee shall be to establish, in consultation with the probationer, the procedures it will follow in evaluating the performance and professional competence of the probationer assigned thereto. b. Criteria to be used in the evaluation shall be limited to professional skills, knowledge of subject matter, general College service, faculty-staff relationships, and responsibilities set out in the position description. c. All evaluative judgments shall be written in narrative report form. d. The committee shall include first-hand observations of the probationer's performance in the position. e. The evaluation process shall also include annual self-evaluation by the probationer using guidelines provided by the committee. f. Probationary faculty with teaching assignments must include student evaluations as part of the process. Student evaluation instruments for probationary instructors and counselors shall be the same as those used by other division faculty. Student evaluations shall be administered in at least four quarters within the first six quarters, and once in the seventh quarter of the probationary period.
