Exchange of information and cooperation. 1. The Parties shall provide notification of any changes to their mandatory requirements in accordance with their WTO obligations. In exceptional cases where considerations of health, safety or environmental protection warrant more urgent action, each Party shall notify the other Party of changes within the time period set out in the relevant Sectoral Annex or if no time period is specified, at least 60 days before the changes enter into force. 2. The Parties shall, for the purposes of this Chapter, establish contact points to expeditiously: (a) broaden the exchange of information; and (b) give favourable consideration to any written request for consultation. 3. The Parties should endeavour to develop a work programme and mechanisms for co-operation activities in the areas of technical issues of mutual interest.
