Common use of Extension of Probationary Promotional Period Clause in Contracts

Extension of Probationary Promotional Period. As an alternative to termination of the probationary promotional period, the probationary period may be extended. (i) Any extension shall be for no more than a total of ninety (90) calendar days. (ii) Such extension may be made by action of the Chancellor or designee whenever an additional period is considered necessary to assess the ability of a unit member to perform assigned duties satisfactorily. (iii) The unit member shall be informed in writing of any extension and the reasons therefore prior to the close of the regular probationary period, and the opportunity will be provided to be heard by the Chancellor or designee.
