Common use of Family of National Guard/Reserves Clause in Contracts

Family of National Guard/Reserves. Family members of service members in the National Guard or Reserves shall be allowed upon request, the use of up to twelve (12) weeks of their FMLA Leave to manage the affairs of the service member while he or she is on active duty, whether current, or prospective (call-up). Such “qualifying exigency leave” may be taken for: a. Short-notice deployment b. Military events c. Child-care and school activities d. Financial and/or legal arrangements e. Counseling f. Rest and recuperation g. Post-deployment activities h. Additional activities agreed upon as qualifying between the employer and employee.
