The Society was certified in May 1995 under the Canada Labour Code for a bargaining unit comprised of the following: All employees of Ontario Hydro employed by Ontario Hydro Nuclear (OHN) in the Province of Ontario employed as supervisors, professional engineers, engineers-in- training, scientists, and professional, administrative and associated employees, save and except for persons who perform managerial functions as distinct from supervisory functions; persons employed in a confidential capacity with respect to labour relations; and persons in bargaining units for which any trade union held bargaining rights as of November 13, 1991. On April 1, 1998, jurisdiction for labour relations for the above Ontario Hydro noted federal bargaining unit was delegated to the Province of Ontario.
