Common use of Final Cleaning of Project Clause in Contracts

Final Cleaning of Project. At completion of the Work and prior to occupancy by District, Contractor shall, using professional cleaners, thoroughly clean the interior and exterior of the buildings, and the Site and adjacent areas, of all material related to its performance of the Work. In the event Contractor fails to do so, District may cause this work to be done at Contractor's expense, as provided in Section 16 of these General Conditions. The following list is not inclusive but to act as a guideline: (a) Removal of all spots, stains, paint spots, rubbish, debris, tools, equipment, trade markings and labels, and accumulated dust and dirt from all areas and broom clean. Steam clean all carpets and mop floors. (b) Cleaning interior and exterior of the buildings including all windows in any area affected by the Work. (c) Brush off, broom sweep, dust and clean ledges, stairs, doors, hardware, chalk board trays and any adjoining rooms or areas that were affected by the Work. (d) Contractor shall clear grounds and exterior paved areas and walks of all construction debris, dirt and dust and shall repair any Site areas damaged during the course of the Work. Prior to final completion or District occupancy, Contractor shall conduct an inspection of sight-exposed surfaces, and all work areas, to verify that the entire Work is clean. In the event Contractor fails to do so, District may cause this work to be done at the Contractor's expense.
