FIRE AND RESCUE DUTY. Subject to the operating needs of the ODG, an employee who is a member of a municipal fire and/or rescue team reachable within a 30-minute drive from his or her work location shall, in the absence of conflicting ODG emergency or other urgent ODG business, be granted leave without loss of pay or benefits to answer emergency alarms or calls, not drills, within his or her municipality or outside the municipality as part of a mutual aid call; or multiple alarm calls; or conflagration for which the employee is reasonably available and is called and has so notified the DG to the extent practical. An employee covered by this Article shall be entitled to carry a pager while on duty.
