Float Premium. Employees hired into the float pool, shall be paid a premium of one dollar and twenty-five cents ($1.25) per hour for all hours worked.
Float Premium. A nurse floating from his/her work unit to a different clinical area to assume a regular patient assignment will be paid two dollars and fifty centers ($2.50) per hour over the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay for all hours floated. Clinical areas include: OB; Emergency Department; Medical/Surgical (2 Main, 2 West); Surgery/PACU/Endoscopy; Short Stay Unit and Critical Care/Telemetry. Exceptions: Employees are not eligible for float premium in the following circumstances: a. When being cross-trained pursuant to Article 5.13. b. When an employee requests a floating assignment in lieu of low census c. When an employee is hired to work in more than one work unit d. When an employee voluntarily signs up to work additional shifts on unit different from the unit in which the employee was hired to work
Float Premium. Nurses who declare their intent to use the low census bank are eligible for a $3.00 per hour float premium on any occasion in which they float. A nurse who refuses a float at the direction of the Employer to a unit for which he or she is cross trained or otherwise competent will lose the $3.00 float premium, forfeit rights to access his or her low census bank for that calendar year and further accruals will cease. Resource Nurses who declare for the Low Census bank receive a $5.00 premium for all hours worked as a Resource Nurse and are not eligible for the $3.00 low census bank float premium.

Registered Nurses assigned to work outside the unit(s) 31 for which they were hired as a part of that unit's matrix staff for a defined shift of 32 at least four (4) hours will be compensated with a float premium of one dollar and 33 fifty cents ($1.50) per hour for every hour worked. Registered Nurses employed 34 solely in the Resource Team/Float Pool (excluding Stat and PICC/Vascular 35 Access Program registered nurses) will receive a float premium of four five 36 dollars ($45.00) per hour for all hours. 38 10.8.1 New Nurse Float Pay. Registered Nurses hired after the effective date of 39 this agreement who are new graduates shall not receive the float premium 40 until they work independently clinically, or for one (1) year, whichever is 41 earlier (for the purposes of this section, “new graduate” is defined as a 42 nurse who has graduated in the past nine (9) months). For the purposes of 43 this section, “independently clinically” is defined as the Registered Nurse 44 being counted for the purpose of the staffing matrix.
Float Premium. All nurses who are assigned to float to a regular unit, other than their hired unit(s)/area(s) and Resource Unit Nurses, shall receive three dollars ($3.00) per hour float premium for all hours worked as a float to the other unit.

Float Premium. A nurse who has completed a competency checklist in his or her home unit and one (1) other unit and who takes a patient load in the unit they are floated to shall receive a premium of two dollars ($2.00) per hour for all time spent performing such work. For purposes of this section, a “unit” shall mean the behavioral health unit, emergency department, family maternity center, intensive care unit, medical surgical, OR, PACU, and Endoscopy. In a unit that has multiple departments, a nurse shall receive the premium only if working in a department where he or she has completed a competency checklist.
Float Premium. Nurses who float to another unit outside of their assigned pod shall receive a premium of $2.00 for every hour worked in the assignment.
Float Premium. Nurses who perform work away from their home unit shall receive a premium of three dollars ($3.00) per hour for all time worked outside of their home unit. This section shall only apply to nurses who take a full patient load and shall not apply to nurses in training.
