JURY DUTY AND SUBPOENAED WITNESS. 25.01 Where an employee with seniority is called to and reports for jury duty, or is called to testify as a crown subpoenaed witness, he shall be paid the difference between the pay he receives for such duty or testimony and the pay he would have received for an eight (8) hour day at his regular hourly rate for such time lost if the employee would otherwise have been scheduled to work for the Company on any shift. The employee will be required to provide verification of attendance for any time period excused to attend jury duty.

JURY DUTY AND SUBPOENAED WITNESS. The Employer shall reimburse an employee on jury duty at regular rates of pay for each day while serving on jury duty, including appropriate travel time. The employee must provide the Employer with a signed document from the clerk of the court, stating the days in attendance and the amount of payment received from the court. The employee’s pay shall be kept whole and the employee shall remit to the Employer any monies received for witness or jury fees (if any). It shall be the employee’s responsibility to advise the Employer immediately of the date(s) she is to serve on jury duty. The Employer shall reimburse an employee called as a subpoenaed witness at regular rates of pay for all schedule work time missed, to a maximum of five (5) days per employee per calendar year. The employee shall be provided with a copy of the subpoena and the Employer may deduct any wage compensation amounts received under the subpoena from the employee’s wages.
JURY DUTY AND SUBPOENAED WITNESS. 20.01 An Employee required to serve on a legally constituted jury or as a witness during a period when he/she would otherwise be scheduled to work for the Company shall be paid the wages he/she would have received during this period computed on the basis of regular hours and then current rate of pay. Such Employee will notify the Company of the requirement to attend the jury or submit the subpoena to appear as a witness and shall furnish adequate proof of the amount of jury pay or witness pay received, which shall be deducted from his/her next pay cheque. The Company will not require the Employee to work any other than his/her normally scheduled hours while on jury duty or witness duty, but may require an Employee excused from jury duty or witness duty to complete the balance of the regular shift.

An employee must give the Company prior notice that they have been summoned for jury duty or subpoenaed as a crown witness upon receipt of such notice and furnish satisfactory evidence that they reported.
JURY DUTY AND SUBPOENAED WITNESS. 16.1 A nurse who is unable to be relieved from jury duty or subpoenaed witness responsibilities after formal request has been made by the Employer, and is sitting as an active juror or witness on a day the nurse was previously scheduled to work, shall receive from the Employer her/his basic straight time hourly rate for the duration of jury or witness duty. When a nurse is required for less than half (1/2) of the scheduled shift for jury or witness duty, he/she will report to work for the remainder of the shift.
JURY DUTY AND SUBPOENAED WITNESS. 18.01 An employee will receive for each day of Jury Duty, or for each day's attendance as a subpoenaed witness of the Crown or Defense, the difference between his / her basic hourly rate for eight hours and the amount of the jury fee or conduct money (whichever is applicable) received for a day he / she would have otherwise been required to work provided the employee furnishes the Company with a certificate of service signed by the Clerk of the Court, showing the amount of Jury Fee or conduct money (whichever is applicable) paid. An employee on Jury Duty or subpoenaed by the Crown or Defense, is expected to report for work when not actively involved in Court proceedings provided he / she has been excused by a duly authorized Court official.
JURY DUTY AND SUBPOENAED WITNESS. 14.01 Subject to (a) to (e) below, the Employer will make up the difference between the amount of pay per day an employee (who has completed his/her probationary period), received while serving as a member of a jury, or subpoenaed as a crown witness to an amount equal to the normal earnings and the pay received for jury duty or crown witness. The employee will present proof of service and the amount of pay received. In order to be eligible for payment, the employee is required to notify the Employer as soon as possible of selection for Jury Duty or subpoenaed as a crown witness.
