Fluorescent Light Fixture Cleaning. Diffusers or lenses must be removed from each fixture and washed in detergent solution, rinsed, dried, and replaced. The balance of each fixture and lamp tubes must be cleaned with a damp cloth. Cleaned fluorescent light fixtures must be free of all dust, dirt, streaks, and detergent residue.
