For RAs. (a) All assigned activities of a RA, other than Employer-required Training as detailed in Article 16.15, shall be included in the number of allotted hours of work, as set out in Appendix C, the Research Assistant Form. (b) The RAF shall be completed one week prior to the appointment start date. (c) The RA shall sign the E-Contract immediately upon receipt. (d) At the request of a RA or Employment Supervisor, the Employment Supervisor and the RA shall meet at or around the mid-point of the RAship for the purpose of conducting a review of the RA’s assigned activities. This review shall ensure that the RA’s hours of work, as set out in their RAF, continue to be appropriate. In the event that either the Employment Supervisor or the RA feels that a reallocation of activities within the assigned hours is required, a subsequent meeting will be held. If a decision is made to reallocate activities within the assigned hours, Section B of the RAF shall be revised accordingly. (e) Where hours of work beyond the total allotted in the RAF are required, extra paid hours may be offered during the appointment by the Employer with the agreement of the RA. A new RAF shall be completed when there are extra paid hours. There will be no consequences for a RA who declines hours in excess of the total hours allotted on the original RAF. (f) Further, where hours of work beyond the total allotted in the RAF are required in order to complete activities associated with the appointment, but would extend beyond what would otherwise be the end date of the appointment, extra paid hours may be offered by the Employer with the agreement of the RA. A new RAF shall be completed when there are extra hours paid. There will be no consequences for a RA who declines hours in excess of the total hours allotted on the original RAF.
