Formal Grievance Procedure – Step Three. 1. If the decision received in Step Two is not acceptable to the grievant, the grievant shall submit, within ten (10) working days after receipt of the written decision from Step Two, a letter requesting a review by the Board of Education. A letter to the Board of Education requesting review shall include a copy of the grievance and a written explanation, specifically stating the grievant’s position and reasons for the grievance, and the Superintendent’s answer from Step Two. A copy of the letter shall be provided to the Superintendent of Schools, who shall, within five (5) days after receipt of the letter, provide the Board of Education with copies of the complete file relating to the grievance, including the principal’s answer to the grievance as provided in Step One, all materials supplied in Step Two, including the Superintendent’s written answer to the grievance and additional information as the Superintendent deems appropriate to support his/her position. Upon receipt of the above-mentioned materials, the Board of Education may request additional written materials from the grievant or Superintendent, and shall schedule a conference with the grievant.
