Further Testing Required Sample Clauses

Further Testing Required. Specimens containing a band on serum protein electrophoresis suggestive of a monoclonal protein, but which do not react with IgG, IgA or IgM antisera, may require further testing as follows:

Further Testing Required. The serum protein electropherogram or densitometric tracing should be evaluated for abnormalities. If abnormalities are observed, appropriate follow-up studies should be initiated. These may include immunoelectrophoresis, immunofixation, quantitation of immunoglobulins, bone marrow examination and other appropriate tests.
Further Testing Required. 1. Total LD activity may be determined. Conflicting reports exist about the true value of total serum enzyme levels as compared to the severity of a disease1, 4, 22.
Further Testing Required. 1. If a band is seen in the Pentavalent lane, IFE testing must be run for specific identification.
Further Testing Required. Total LD activity may be determined. Conflicting reports exist about the true value of total serum enzyme levels as compared to the severity of a disease.1,4,22 In diagnosing myocardial infarction, CK isoenzyme studies should be per- formed.1,4 Haptoglobin studies may be performed to rule out hemolysis as a cause of elevated LD1 and LD2. INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS LD2 is the LD isoenzyme present in the largest amount in normal serum.1-4,11 LD1 is elevated and may be greater than LD2 in: Myocardial infarction.1-4,11 Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy presents a pattern like MI but clinical symp- toms help in easily differentiating the two diseases.18-19 Hemolysis (including hemolytic anemias). Hemolytic anemias should be strongly considered whenever total serum LD reaches levels greater than five times normal, and the isoenzymes show an increased LD1 and LD2. Total LD is much higher in hemolytic anemia than in MI unless MI is accompanied by severe shock. Pernicious anemia (PA) in relapse gives an LD pattern like hemolysis. Some of the highest total serum LD values are found in PA.2,14 Renal infarct.2,11 LD3 is elevated in pulmonary infarctions.6,11,20 LD4 elevation has not been associated with any particular pathology. LD5 is elevated in hepatic and muscular damage and diseases of the skin.1 Isomorphic patterns: When total LD is markedly elevated but all the isoenzymes are of normal per- centages, the phenomenon is referred to as an isomorphic pattern. Widely diver- gent groups of clinical diagnoses have shown this type of pattern and include cardiorespiratory diseases, malignancy, fracture, diseases of the central nervous system, infection/inflammation, hepatic cirrhosis and/or alcoholism, trauma without fracture, infectious mononucleosis, hypothyroidism, uremia, necrosis, pseudomononucleosis, viremia and intestinal obstruction.21 (See LIMITATIONS Note) CK and LD values following open heart surgery: CK and LD isoenzymes are less specific following open heart surgery than they are in most diagnostic situations. The CK-MB will be elevated due to myocardial damage resulting from the operative procedure as well as trauma to the heart from manipulation and cannulation. The LD1/LD2 may be elevated secondary to hemolysis from extra corporeal circulation. PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS PRECISION Within Run studies were run using a patient sample run in replicate on one gel. n = 60 BIBLIOGRAPHY
Further Testing Required. The serum or urine protein electropherogram, or densitometric tracing, should be evaluated for abnormalities. If abnormalities are observed, appropriate follow-up studies should be initiated.9 Not all clinically significant monoclonal gammopathies will display a distinct band detectable by protein electrophoresis.10 Further studies may be indicated based on clinical context. These may include immunofixation, quantitation of immunoglobulins, bone marrow examination and other appropriate tests.
Further Testing Required. A. IgM Typing (IgA) Interpretation of IgM Light Chain reactions is often difficult due to the umbrella effect of IgG. The following method may be used to depolymerize IgM (19S) into single molecular units (7S), which diffuse through the agarose more rapidly. In rare instances, this may be necessary for IgA typing. Perform this procedure under a fume hood. The vapor from 2-mercaptoethanol (2-ME) may cause skin irritation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

  • Testing Requirements 12.1. Workplaces -

  • Follow-up Testing An employee shall submit to unscheduled follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing if, within the previous 24-month period, the employee voluntarily disclosed drug or alcohol problems, entered into or completed a rehabilitation program for drug or alcohol abuse, failed or refused a preappointment drug test, or was disciplined for violating the provisions of this Agreement and Employer work rules. The Employer may require an employee who is subject to follow-up testing to submit to no more than six unscheduled drug or alcohol tests within any 12 month period.

  • Forecasting Requirements 19.5.1 The Parties shall exchange technical descriptions and forecasts of their Interconnection and traffic requirements in sufficient detail necessary to establish the Interconnections necessary for traffic completion to and from all Customers in their respective designated service areas.

  • SPECIALIZED SERVICE REQUIREMENTS In the event that the Participating Entity requires service or specialized performance requirements not addressed in this Contract (such as e- commerce specifications, specialized delivery requirements, or other specifications and requirements), the Participating Entity and the Supplier may enter into a separate, standalone agreement, apart from this Contract. Sourcewell, including its agents and employees, will not be made a party to a claim for breach of such agreement.

  • Initial Forecasts/Trunking Requirements Because Verizon’s trunking requirements will, at least during an initial period, be dependent on the Customer segments and service segments within Customer segments to whom CSTC decides to market its services, Verizon will be largely dependent on CSTC to provide accurate trunk forecasts for both inbound (from Verizon) and outbound (to Verizon) traffic. Verizon will, as an initial matter, provide the same number of trunks to terminate Reciprocal Compensation Traffic to CSTC as CSTC provides to terminate Reciprocal Compensation Traffic to Verizon. At Verizon’s discretion, when CSTC expressly identifies particular situations that are expected to produce traffic that is substantially skewed in either the inbound or outbound direction, Verizon will provide the number of trunks CSTC suggests; provided, however, that in all cases Verizon’s provision of the forecasted number of trunks to CSTC is conditioned on the following: that such forecast is based on reasonable engineering criteria, there are no capacity constraints, and CSTC’s previous forecasts have proven to be reliable and accurate.

  • Trunk Forecasting Requirements 14.2.1 Initial trunk forecast requirements. At least ninety (90) days before initiating interconnection in a LATA, Alltel shall provide Verizon a two (2)-year traffic forecast that complies with the Verizon Interconnection Trunking Forecast Guide, as revised from time to time. This initial traffic forecast will provide the amount of traffic to be delivered to and from Verizon over each of the Interconnection Trunk groups in the LATA over the next eight (8) quarters.

  • Screening Requirements Xxxxxx shall ensure that all prospective and current Covered Persons are not Ineligible Persons, by implementing the following screening requirements.

  • Operating Requirements Any operating and technical requirements that may be applicable due to Regional Transmission Organization, Independent System Operator, control area, or the Connecting Transmission Owner’s requirements, including those set forth in the Small Generator Interconnection Agreement. Operating Requirements shall include Applicable Reliability Standards.
