To guarantee and speed up stakeholder adoption in technologies, it is crucial to ensure adoption with both women and men. Gender perspectives are important to take into consideration as part of all activities related to stakeholder adoption and end-user acceptance (WP3-WP8). All consortium members have been selected based on their respective expertise. Everyone is recognized and respected in their field and will make a valuable contribution to the project. The consortium will strictly adhere to the EU Commission objectives on gender equality, gender balance in research teams, decision making, and integrating sex/gender analysis in research and innovation content. As is the case in energy sector, and the wider field of engineering, a gender imbalance exists within the CLUE consortium at proposal stage. However, it is the aim of all partners to ensure gender equality and promote the careers of all genders in science and engineering at all levels, particularly in the decision-making groups. The project coordinator will not permit any gender or other bias in the recruiting of staff required for the successful completion of the project. Recruitment will be solely based on scientific excellence. In addition, there will be no gender discrimination within the consortium members and every partner will ensure that interests and concerns of both sexes are equally addressed. All participating institutions have policies in place for equal opportunities, which will cover all employees participating in CLUE in accordance with the European Equal Opportunities Legislation (Directive 2006/54/EC). Advertisements for job vacancies will explicitly indicate that the employer is an equal opportunities employer. Another measure to encourage the participation of all genders in the project is to allow flexible working conditions to address family commitments. These conditions will include, amongst others, flexible hours, video/teleconferences instead of face-to-face meetings and the possibility to work from home.
